The idea and the team behind Neon Drifts
Steinberg’s sound designers Hanns-Henning Behrendt, Jan Neddermann, Philippe Bono and Matthias Klag teamed up with De Wet van der Spuy to create a modern version of ’80s movie and game score sounds. They wanted to create more than just a nostalgic look back. The vision was a contemporary interpretation of some of the most iconic, classic analog synths. Neon Drifts is an energetic vision of a futuristic city which shines brightly above — but is dark, unstable and gritty on the ground. It fits perfectly into today’s synthesizer-based pop, heavy synth-driven scores and game music.
